Honolulu International Airport in Honolulu

Daniel K. Inouye International Airport, ook bekend als Honolulu International Airport ligt in de Amerikaanse staat Hawaï. De luchthaven geldt als de luchthaven van Honolulu en is de belangrijkste luchthaven van de staat Hawaï. Honolulu International Airport is de thuisbasis van Hawaiian Airlines, Mokulele Airlines en Aloha Air Cargo. Honolulu International Airport heeft directe verbindingen met Noord-Amerika, Azië en Australië.

Geschiedenis

Honolulu International Airport werd in 1927 geopend als John Rodgers Airport (genoemd naar een marine officier). De luchthaven werd hernoemd in Honolulu Airport in 1947 en het woord International werd toegevoegd in 1951. In April 2017 werd de luchthaven vernoemd naar senator Daniel Inouye.

La Marianas Tiki bar is a 6 minute cab ride from the airport. A great waterfront layover or first stop drinking spot. Best tiki dive bar in Hawaii. (HNL airport is in the background.)

I enjoyed buying three pineapples for $30. They are fresh. They are tasty. It is just hard to swallow the price per bite. For some reason, a Hawaiin pineapple has more nostalgia than a costco one.

Airport is a bit outdated and can use a remodel. Open air corridors are a nice touch to allow fresh pacific air through. Either way you just landed in Paradise.

Pretty dirty restrooms in the baggage claim area - don't forget your own tissues/sanitary wipes. Ungepflegter Sanitäranlagen im Bereich der Gepäckausgabe, eigene Papier-/Desinfektionstücher helfen.

Arrive early to visit the airline lounge garden but don't try to feed the fish and don't throw pennies into the pond. There's a funny sign to this extent
