Holmenkollen is een skischans bij de berg Holmenkollen in Oslo.

Holmenkollen is een skischans bij de berg Holmenkollen in Oslo. Hij ligt circa 6 km ten noorden van het centrum. Er worden wedstrijden gehouden sinds 1892. Er werden verschillende wereldkampioenschappen en de Olympische Winterspelen 1952 gehouden. Aan de voet ligt sinds 1923 een skimuseum gewijd aan de geschiedenis van de skisport.

An interesting place but only in good weather. If you come here on a snowy and foggy day you won’t be able to enjoy the view from the ski jump. So, mind the weather conditions.

If closing hour is 16u00, it really IS 16u00, even if you just bought your tickets at 15u55 & say you still can go up the ski jump for the view. Arrived at the top & staff told us to go back down.

For a challenging training ride, strike out to the north, towards this ever visible ski-slope. The elegant steel structure seems to float in the air, and there’s a museum and cafe to pass the time.
